Coleman Cowan is a Senior Lecturing Fellow at Duke University School of Law, specializing in trial law and litigation. He leads the litigation section at James Scott Farrin and has a considerable background as an attorney, litigating high-stakes cases in areas such as personal injury, product liability, and complex litigation. Coleman has been recognized for his contributions to the legal field, being selected as one of North Carolina’s 'Legal Elite' and making it to the 'Super Lawyers' list by Business North Carolina Magazine. Apart from litigation, Coleman is an accomplished documentary news producer, with stories featured on platforms such as CBS's 60 Minutes. He has received numerous prestigious awards, including an Emmy, Gracie, Murrow, Peabody, and Polk awards in broadcast journalism, and has reported from various continents including Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America. He holds a J.D. with honors from Wake Forest University School of Law and a B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, along with a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University, where he was part of the inaugural class of Stabile Investigative Journalism fellows. Apart from his professional achievements, Coleman is an avid athlete, competing in triathlons, marathons, and ultramarathons worldwide.
