Amitabh Chandra is the Henry Allison McCance Family Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, where he serves as Faculty Chair for the joint MS/MBA program in life sciences and the executive education program in the same field. His research encompasses critical aspects of the biopharmaceutical industry, focusing on innovation, pricing strategies, capital allocation, value in health care, medical malpractice, and racial disparities in health care access. Notably, he is engaged in developing new methods for treating Alzheimer’s disease and has been involved with research funded by the National Institute on Aging, among others. He has published extensively in esteemed journals, including the American Economic Review and the New England Journal of Medicine, and has contributed to the Congressional Budget Office’s Panel of Health Advisors. His expertise has also led him to advise both federal and state governments on health care reforms. Chandra has been recognized as a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Medicine, and has received several prestigious awards acknowledging his impact on health economics, including the Upjohn Institute’s Dissertation Award and the NIHCM Foundation Health Care Research Award.
