Sascha Meinrath is the Palmer Chair in Telecommunications at Penn State University and the director of X-Lab, an innovative think tank focusing on the intersection of vanguard technologies and public policy. He is a renowned technology policy expert, recognized for his contributions over the past decades as a community internet pioneer, social entrepreneur, and angel investor. In 2012, he was elected an Ashoka Fellow for Social Entrepreneurship and has been named one of Time Magazine's 'Tech 40' influential figures in technology and Newsweek's 'Top 100' in the Digital Power Index.
