Biography

Louis van der Ham started his academic journey at the University of Twente, where he graduated Cum Laude in Chemical Engineering in January 1986. He began his PhD research under Prof.dr.ir. W.P.M. van Swaaij, focusing on regenerative high-temperature desulfurization within coal gas circulating fluidized bed systems. His current research interests include process design, simulation, and the feasibility analysis of separating metals through various advanced techniques, including supercritical water desalination. Alongside his teaching roles, he is involved in industry projects, ensuring that students gain practical experience in process design. Van der Ham's dedication to education is reflected in his coordination of the Chemical Engineering Bachelor and Master programs, where he focuses on delivering high-quality instruction and guidance to students.
