Biography

Aad Correljé graduated in Political Sciences (International Relations and European Law) from the University of Amsterdam in 1989. He obtained a Ph.D. in 1994 with a thesis titled 'The Spanish Oil Industry: Structural Change and Modernisation' from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. He is engaged in academic research, teaching, and consulting in energy, water, and transport issues. His current research focuses on the economic and institutional analysis of public policy, regulation, and private strategy in infrastructure-bound sectors, including oil, gas, power, and water supply. Correljé teaches various courses including Market Design Policy Issues, Institutional Economics, and Master’s Thesis Writing, among others. His publications include articles on institutional change in natural gas supply systems and economic perspectives in public utility sectors. He has held several lectures on energy policy in the EU and gas wholesale markets. Additionally, he has served as an associate fellow at the Clingendael International Energy Programme and has been involved in advising the Dutch Mining Council on mineral exploration and energy policies.
