Biography

Aara Suksi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Classical Studies at Western University. She holds a BA, MA, and PhD from the University of Toronto. Her research interests lie in Greek literature and culture, the Ancient Greek language, and the study of gender in Ancient Greece. Suksi's scholarly work focuses on intergenericity and intertextuality within the ancient Greek literary tradition, as well as the reception of texts in both ancient and contemporary contexts. She has published several articles and collaborated on edited volumes, including contributions to 'Mouseion' on Greek and Roman perspectives. In addition to her research, she supervises graduate theses on topics ranging from Euripidean supplication to the choreographic aspects of Greek culture. Suksi has presented her work at numerous national and international conferences and continues to contribute to the academic community through her teaching and mentorship of students in the field of Classics.
