Aaron Brown received his PhD from Tufts University in 2011. He has held postdoctoral positions at Pennsylvania State University and the University of Chicago. In 2017, he was appointed as the Neubauer Family Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago. In 2019, he joined the faculty of Northwestern University. His research interests include smooth dynamics, group actions, and rigidity. Brown was awarded the 2021 New Horizons Mathematics Prize from the Breakthrough Foundation, which he shared with Sebastian Hurtado for their contributions to the proof of Zimmer’s conjecture. He also received an NSF CAREER grant in 2017 and gave an invited talk at the 2022 International Congress of Mathematicians.
