Biography

Aaron Carrel is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He holds an MD and specializes in the impact of body composition and energy expenditure on children, particularly those with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and various forms of obesity. His research has extensively focused on the relationship between cardiovascular fitness and body composition in children, with particular emphasis on school-based interventions aimed at assessing and improving cardiovascular fitness levels and insulin sensitivity. Over the past seven years, he has collaborated with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction on these school-based initiatives, which engage schools, communities, and statewide agencies.
