Dr. Aaron Cheng

Biography

Zhi (Aaron) Cheng is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at the London School of Economics (LSE). His research focuses on the economics of digitization, the implications of artificial intelligence for sustainable business, and the impacts these digital changes have on society. By utilizing grounded experimental and observational evidence, his studies explore causal effects and structural mechanisms of digital innovation, examining how it redistributes key inputs such as time, space, attention, labor, and capital, ultimately transforming both individual choices and institutional dynamics. Dr. Cheng has published extensively in notable journals including Management Science, Information Systems Research, and the Journal of Management Information Systems. His teaching portfolio includes various courses on managing AI, digital innovation, and data analytics. He has been recognized for his contributions to education with awards such as the LSE Students’ Union Teaching Award for Mentoring & Personal Development and has been listed among the top lecture/class teachers in the Department of Management.
