Biography

Aaron Sachs is a Professor in the Department of History at Cornell University, specializing in Cultural, Intellectual, and Environmental History. He completed his Ph.D. in American Studies at Yale University in 2004 and holds an A.B. magna cum laude in History and Literature from Harvard University. His scholarly work blends history with creative writing, focusing on themes of ecological interconnection and social justice. Sachs's upcoming book, 'The Earth Mine: History and Environmental Justice' is set to release in 2026/2027. His previous publications include significant works such as 'Stay Cool: Dark Comedy Matters Fight Climate Change' and 'Depths: Herman Melville, Lewis Mumford, Rediscovery Dark'. His research interests encompass the complexities of American cultural history, particularly how environmental narratives unfold over time.
