Dr. Aayushi Rai

Biography

Aayushi Rai, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and an Attending Radiologist at the Boston Veteran Affairs Hospital. She earned her Medical Doctorate (MD) from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Dublin. Dr. Rai completed her Internal Medicine residency at Albany Medical Center, followed by a Diagnostic Radiology residency at Boston Medical Center. She further honed her expertise with a fellowship in Diagnostic Neuroradiology at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Medical Center and a fellowship in Breast Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her clinical expertise spans diagnostic radiology with specializations in neuroradiology and breast imaging, focusing on advanced imaging techniques for accurate diagnosis. Her research interests include optimizing imaging protocols and understanding disease mechanisms, evidenced by publications in leading journals such as Radiology and the Journal of Breast Imaging. Dr. Rai is an accomplished educator, delivering lectures to medical students and residents. She is an active member of the Radiological Society of North America and serves on the editorial board of Radiation Science Technology Journal. Her honors include the Ewa Kuligowska, MD Award for outstanding performance in radiology and the ACR-AUR Research Scholar award.
