Abbas E. Abbas is a Professor and Chief of Thoracic Surgery at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, as well as Chief of Thoracic Oncology at Lifespan Health System. Dr. Abbas has served as President of the Eastern Cardiothoracic Surgical Society and represents Thoracic Surgeons in the Eastern United States. He is involved with the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery, and the Society of Robotic Surgery. He is also a member of the editorial board for several publications, including serving as an Associate Editor for Innovations. His research interests encompass outcomes research in thoracic oncology and basic science research involving tumor organoids.
