Abbas Dashtimanesh is an Assistant Professor at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, specializing in ship hydromechanics. His research focuses on resistance, seakeeping, and maneuvering, with an emphasis on green ship design and the implementation of emerging technologies in hydrodynamic ship design. Dashtimanesh is currently involved in projects conceptualizing applications of digital twins in the ship design process for both new builds and retrofitting existing physical assets. In addition, he is working on integrating generative AI models for efficient hull form design and linking ship design with manufacturing through digital twins. He is also a member of the management committee for the European initiative COST Action 'Decarbonising Waterborne Transportation (DeWaTra)', which focuses on hydrodynamic hull design and energy-efficient performance. Dashtimanesh teaches several courses related to Naval Architecture, including Advanced Topics in Naval Architecture and Modelling Ship’s Propulsion and Maneuvering, where he serves as an examiner and teacher respectively.
Master's programs are organized under Schools; departments listed are units within these schools (e.g., EECS, ABE, CBH, ITM, SCI).
