Biography

Abbe Depretis is an Associate Teaching Professor in Business Communication at Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business. With a strong academic background, including a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Social Change from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Temple University, Depretis has developed a strong research focus on rhetoric in social change, business communication, and diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. Prior to joining Carnegie Mellon, Depretis served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication and Social Influence at Temple University. Depretis's work combines practical and theoretical insights, aiming to foster communication practices that promote equity and social impact. Depretis actively contributes to academic discourse via various publications and participation in professional advancements.
