Biography

Abby Wong, MD, is a general surgeon specializing in General Surgery, Trauma, and Surgical Critical Care. She treats various conditions including appendicitis, cholecystitis (inflammation of the gallbladder), and small bowel obstructions, caring for patients in the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU). Dr. Wong utilizes open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgical techniques based on patient preferences and shared decision-making. Her experiences with health inequity, stemming from a personal loss during a trip to a remote location, inspired her to pursue a career in surgery and focus on ICU research, particularly during her time in sub-Saharan Africa. With a passion for a team-oriented approach in critical care, Dr. Wong collaborates with multidisciplinary providers to enhance patient outcomes.
