Biography

Abdelhak Bentaleb is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Concordia University. He co-founded Atlastream PTE LTD and has served as Area Chair for ACM Multimedia in Lisbon, Portugal. His main research interests include Computer Networks and Systems, Multimedia Systems, and the optimization of Video Streaming Applications. He specifically focuses on investigating new paradigms based on practical machine and deep learning techniques to solve challenges associated with Quality of Experience (QoE) optimization and congestion control in video delivery systems. Bentaleb obtained his Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore, where his dissertation addressed enabling optimizations of video delivery in HTTP Adaptive Streaming. He has received multiple prestigious awards, including the SIGMM Award for Outstanding Ph.D. Thesis and the DASH Industry Forum Ph.D. Dissertation Award. He has published over 40 papers in leading venues and continues to contribute significantly to the field of multimedia systems and networking.
