Biography

Abdelhalim Elamroussy is a sessional lecturer in Arabic Language Studies at the University of Toronto. He is currently a PhD candidate in Middle/Near Eastern Languages and Cultures at Indiana University, where he focuses on Islamic studies and Arabic linguistics. His dissertation explores themes of Jihad, War, and Peace in Islamic texts, including the Qur'an and Sunnah, as well as Islamic jurisprudence. His research interests encompass Classical Arabic, Islamic Studies, Modern Standard Arabic, and Linguistics, with particular specialization in Arabic grammar, morphology, and semantics.
