Abdollah Behzadi graduated from McGill University with a degree from the Faculty of Medicine in 1995. He completed his General Surgery training program at McGill and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in 2000. Afterward, he became certified by the American Board of Surgery in 2001 and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Behzadi furthered his expertise with thoracic surgery training at the University of Manitoba, where he also earned a Master of Business Administration in 2003. He has completed advanced fellowship training in Minimally Invasive Thoracic Gastro-esophageal Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. He is recognized for his work in minimally invasive surgery for the lung, mediastinum, esophagus, stomach, and hyperhidrosis. Currently, he serves as a thoracic oncologist at Peel Regional Cancer Centre and as a thoracic surgeon at Trillium Health Partners in Mississauga. Dr. Behzadi also holds the position of Director of Undergraduate Medical Education in the Division of Thoracic Surgery at the University of Toronto, and he is the education lead for surgery at the Mississauga Academy of Medicine. He is an active member of several professional societies including the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, European Society of Cardiothoracic Surgeons, and Canadian Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and serves as a peer assessor for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
