Biography

Abdullah Al Maruf is a tenure-track assistant professor in clinical pharmacogenomics at the University of Manitoba's College of Pharmacy. He received his Bachelor of Pharmacy and Master of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, and earned his PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Toronto, Canada. He is the founder and current director of the Precision Medicine Research Education Hub at the College of Pharmacy, focused on co-developing pharmacist-led educational materials to facilitate the integration of pharmacogenomic testing in pharmacy practice. Dr. Maruf leads several significant studies, including the PGx-SUPPORT trial and the Pan-GEM initiative, and has secured $21 million in peer-reviewed funding as a principal investigator for a national research team. His dedication to pharmacy education is reflected in his innovative teaching approaches and his commitment to mentoring students.
