Biography

Abdullatif Aydın qualified from Barts London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London, where he received the Brackenbury Waring Scholarship in Surgery (2013). He completed an intercalated BSc (Hons) in Anatomy at King's College London and undertook modules in Anatomy and Surgical Sciences. His thesis on Simulation training for GreenLight Laser Prostatectomy was published in BJU International. Abdullatif is the primary investigator for the SIMULATE randomized controlled trial, a global initiative evaluating the role of simulation in surgical training. He has received numerous prestigious international awards for his research, including the European Urology Resident’s Corner Award and the RSM Future Projects Prize. Aydın has authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications and regularly presents at international conferences. He is a lecturer in Surgical Sciences, co-leading multiple MSc modules, and has been actively supervising students in related projects. Abdullatif is currently in specialist training in Urology and is a member of the International Alliance for Urolithiasis and the European Association of Urology. His research interests encompass medical surgical education, the role of AI technology in surgery, urological disease management, clinical anatomy, and the history of medicine.
