Dr. Abha Gupta

Biography

Abha R. Gupta obtained her Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University and earned her MD and PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her residency in General Pediatrics at Children's Hospital Philadelphia and a clinical fellowship in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Gupta's clinical research interests primarily center around autism spectrum disorder (ASD), particularly regressive conditions such as childhood disintegrative disorder (CDD). As a principal investigator, she is engaged in exploring the genetics and neurobiology associated with ASD, working specifically with underserved populations, including girls and women with late-onset severe regressive autism. Her work heavily involves collaboration with experts in clinical characterization and neuroimaging, utilizing techniques such as EEG and deep learning algorithms to conduct multimodal analyses aimed at identifying genotype-phenotype correlations. Dr. Gupta is an attending physician at the Fast Track Autism Clinic at Yale Medicine, where she works closely with families to navigate the complexities of autism diagnoses and support systems.
