Biography

Abigail Friendly is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Geography and Spatial Planning at Utrecht University. Her research focuses on the intersection of urban planning, international development, and governance of urban policies. Prior to her current role, she held a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Institute Municipal Finance Governance, Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto. She completed her PhD in the Department of Geography and Planning at the University of Toronto. Her work encompasses a wide range of topics within urban studies, emphasizing the importance of governmental structures in shaping urban environments and policies. Friendly's contributions to the field are recognized through her publications and active engagement in academic discourse.
