Biography

Abigail K. Mansfield Marcaccio is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University. She completed her BA in History at Smith College, followed by a PhD in Psychology from Clark University. Abigail underwent a psychology residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Currently, she serves as the director of the Family Therapy Training program at Lifespan and is the coordinator of the Family Research program at Rhode Island Hospital. Her research centers on using family interventions to assist individuals and families dealing with illness and navigating relational issues. She supervises psychiatry and psychology residents in family therapy and provides clinical services to couples and families, addressing concerns including mood disorders and sexual dysfunction. Her interests also include developing brief measures of family functioning and enhancing psychological services for diverse family structures. Abigail has received notable honors, including Phi Beta Kappa from Smith College.
