Biography

Achyut Kamat is a Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine with over seventeen years of experience working in the Providence area. He completed his MD at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark and his emergency medicine residency at SUNY Stony Brook. Kamat currently practices at Miriam Hospital, Rhode Island Hospital, and Hasbro Children’s Hospital, where he is also the Emergency Medicine Residency Site Director. His professional interests include national and state chapters of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), residency education, and active participation on the RI ACEP Executive Board. Kamat’s commitment to emergency medicine is evident through his leadership roles, including serving as Councilor and Chairman of the Membership Committee for ACEP. His personal interests outside of medicine include travel, baseball, and cooking, which contribute to a well-rounded professional life.
