Dr. Ada Wossink

Biography

Ada Wossink is a Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Manchester. Her appointments include Professor of Agricultural Resource Economics at North Carolina State University, and she has previously held positions at Wageningen University in the Netherlands. Wossink's research interests lie at the intersection of environmental, behavioral, and public economics, with extensive publications in leading interdisciplinary journals such as 'Land Economics' and 'Environmental & Resource Economics'. She has coordinated multiple funded research projects including the Biurbs project on valuing biodiversity and the Health and Wellbeing influences of Green Infrastructure on aging populations. Additionally, she has served as a Professional Research Fellow at the Sustainable Consumption Institute at the University of Manchester and has contributed to significant interdisciplinary projects with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Wossink’s current research focuses on environmental policy, technology adoption, and the multiple objectives of land use sustainability, especially in terms of ecosystem services and environmental efficiency. She is committed to mentoring the next generation of economists and has supervised fourteen PhD students.
