Dr. Adam Block

Biography

Adam Block is an Assistant Professor at the Data Science Institute, Columbia University. His research focuses on designing provably efficient algorithms with a special emphasis on understanding sequential decision making, exploration, and optimization, particularly in the context of language models. Adam completed his PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology under the supervision of Alexander Rakhlin. Before joining Columbia, he worked as a Postdoctoral Scientist at Microsoft Research in New York, where he further developed his expertise in these areas. Through his work, Adam aims to advance algorithms that contribute to the understanding of various computational challenges in data science and artificial intelligence.
