Adam Frampton is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Surgery & Cancer at Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College London. He completed his General & HPB Surgical training through the London Deanery rotational program and served as a Consultant General & HPB Surgeon at the Royal Surrey County Hospital. Adam undertook his undergraduate medical training at Charing Cross Hospital, where he earned a Class intercalated BSc(Hons) in Pharmacology and Toxicology. He completed Basic Surgical Training in Surrey and undertook a year focused on Renal Transplant Vascular Access Surgery at St. Georges Hospital. He joined the HPB Surgical Unit at Hammersmith Hospital in 2009 as a Clinical Research Fellow, where he developed the TVoSS clinical coding project and engaged in basic science translational research. Adam was awarded his PhD in Molecular Oncology in 2014, under the supervision of Dr. Leandro Castellano and Professor Justin Stebbing. He runs a lab group under Dr. Jonathan Krell, focusing on Molecular Oncogenetics and investigating microRNAs involved in the development and progression of Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma (PDAC). His research aims to elucidate the roles of these microRNAs as biomarkers for improving pre-operative diagnosis and as potential therapeutic targets. Adam has received numerous awards for his research contributions, including the Moynihan Prize and the Hunterian Professorship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
