Biography

Adam Hasan has a diverse educational background, earning his BDS from the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy's and St Thomas', University of London. He also completed an intercalated BSc in Anatomy, which allowed him to explore developmental biology, connective tissues, fracture repair, and primatology. In 1996, he obtained his PhD in immunology from Guy’s Hospital and subsequently undertook post-doctoral research. Adam's commitment to teaching was recognized when he received a Certificate in Teaching Medicine and Dentistry in 1999 and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2002. Promoted to Reader in Education Statistics within the Faculty of Dentistry in 2018, he has also contributed significantly as Chair of the Academic Quality Committee since 2006. He has held various roles including senior lecturer and course organizer in periodontology, and his ongoing research includes assessment methodologies in dental education. Furthermore, Adam has engaged in international education as a visiting professor in Cambodia and an external examiner at the University of Hong Kong. His fluency in Khmer enriches his teaching and research experiences.
