Adam Micolich is a professor at the School of Physics at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), specializing in the development of nanoscale electronic devices for bioelectronics applications. His research includes work on microscopy-capable nanoelectronics for the simultaneous optical and electrical study of biomolecules, as well as devices and circuits for ion-to-electron signal transduction. His interests focus on mixed conductivity systems involving ions and electrons that contribute to conduction device function. Adam has been with UNSW since 2002, where he has also served as an Australian Research Council (ARC) Postdoctoral Fellow and an ARC Future Fellow. He has published over 100 refereed research publications, particularly in the areas of physics education research and nanotechnology in Australia.
