Biography

Adam L. Newman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Religion at Illinois University. His research encompasses a diverse range of interests including Hinduism, religious political history in South Asia, and Sanskrit literature. He focuses on Purāṇas, sacred spaces, and the landscape of religious conceptions of the body. Newman obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia in 2019 and has since contributed to the field through various academic roles and research grants.
