Biography

Adam N. Steinman is a Professor of Law at Texas A&M University School of Law, where he has been teaching since 2024. Previously, he held various academic positions including the Robert W. Hodgkins Endowed Chairholder at the University of Alabama School of Law and was a professor at Seton Hall University and the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Steinman specializes in procedural law, civil litigation, complex litigation, federal courts, and federal jurisdiction. He has published articles in prominent law journals including the Stanford Law Review and NYU Law Review and has co-authored leading casebooks and treatises on civil procedure and federal practice. He has also earned an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center, a J.D. from Yale Law School, and a B.A. in Economics and International Studies from Yale University. Steinman is a member of the American Law Institute and has experience as a law clerk for judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals and U.S. District Court. He practiced law at Perkins Coie LLP focusing on complex civil litigation before joining academia.
