Biography

Adam Szulewski is an Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Queen's University, where he also serves as the Educational Scholarship Lead for the Postgraduate Medical Education Program. His academic work applies cognitive load theory to medicine, emphasizing the development and assessment of medical expertise. He completed his emergency medicine training and a fellowship in Resuscitation and Reanimation Medicine at Queen's University. Additionally, he holds a Master of Health Professions Education from Maastricht University, where he received the best dissertation award for his PhD thesis on physician expertise development in resuscitation medicine. Adam is active in medical education and is a Clinician Educator with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, also producing and hosting the Royal College’s medical education podcast, KeyLIME+.
