Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Adam Walters. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Adam currently lectures with a research focus on interactions between biomaterials and the immune system. He obtained his PhD in Vaccinology from the University of Surrey under the supervision of Dr. Simon Graham and Prof. Graham Stewart. His research has involved the development of particulate-based systems as novel immune adjuvants and delivery vehicles for vaccines. Adam has also worked at Imperial College London in the Department of Mucosal Immunology, where he collaborated on a project investigating novel DNA vaccine formulations that induce humoral and cellular immune responses in various models. He spent five years as a Research Associate at the Jenner Institute, University of Oxford, where he researched controlled delivery of antigens to induce spatially and temporally restricted immune responses, focusing primarily on malaria in collaboration with Dr. Anita Milicic and Prof. Adrian Hill. Currently, Adam is part of Professor Khuloud Al-Jamal’s team at King’s College London, working on infectious disease assessments using nanostructures for prophylactic and therapeutic cancer treatments. He has received the prestigious Maplethorpe fellowship (2019-2022) for his work on particulate formulations for nucleic acid delivery to tumours and continued to work at AstraZeneca until returning to King’s College London in his current role.
Requirements are consistent across King's Business School and Social Science & Public Policy departments for standard Master's entries.
