Biography

Adela Cimic is a board-certified anatomic pathologist with clinical expertise in gynecologic pathology and cytopathology. She completed her subspecialty training at Weill Cornell Medicine before joining Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Cimic is experienced in examining tissue samples and cells to provide accurate diagnoses to patients. She actively participates in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings for the gynecologic oncology service and collaborates closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality subspecialty care. Her research primarily focuses on HPV-associated lesions of the lower genital tract and she is actively involved in research related to placenta accreta. In addition to her clinical duties, Dr. Cimic has a passion for training and mentoring residents and fellows, which brings her great joy in her professional life. She cherishes teaching medical students and residents through microscope sign-out educational sessions.
