Dr. Adelaide De Vecchi

Biography

Adelaide de Vecchi is a Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Engineering at King's College London. She obtained her PhD in Aeronautics from Imperial College London and has since engaged in important research focused on precision cardiovascular medicine at the University of Oxford and King's College London. Her research interests center around data-driven models for disease prediction, particularly in the context of developing Digital Twins for healthcare. This work entails the convergence of imaging techniques and machine learning for personalized medicine applications. She aims to foster collaborative efforts among stakeholders, including engineers, clinicians, policy makers, and patients, to realize the full potential of Digital Twin technology in healthcare. Among her specialized research areas are blood coagulation modeling, thrombus formation prediction, and pediatric congenital heart diseases, as well as the use of machine learning to enhance assessments of pulmonary hypertension. Additionally, she has initiated programs aimed at integrating responsible innovation into early career research activities in the UK.
