Biography

Adele Rugini studied at École Normale Supérieure (ENS-PSL) in Paris, graduating with a degree in Social Political Philosophy. She earned her PhD in Philosophy through a co-tutelle program with École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) and the University of Rome 'La Sapienza', with her thesis titled 'L’utopia di Adriano Olivetti. Politica ed estetica'. Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher and teaching assistant at the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio (USI), involved in the project 'City Signs. Understanding Logos', funded by the NOMIS Foundation, and serving as a junior associated researcher at the Centre des Savoirs sur le Politique – Recherches et Analyses (EHESS). Her research focuses on social aesthetics and political imagination in the twentieth century, exploring the intersection of political philosophy, design, and urbanism. She investigates the symbolism of forms, signs, and devices that shape and sustain collective communities. Rugini is the author of 'Immaginare un mondo comune. Esercizi di pensiero con Adriano Olivetti', set to be published by Edizioni di Comunità in 2024.
