Biography

Adolfo Delgado is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2008, after completing his M.S. in the same field in 2005. Prior to his graduate studies in the United States, he earned a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad Simón Bolívar in Caracas, Venezuela in 2002. Dr. Delgado's research interests include rotordynamic structural vibration, energy dissipation mechanisms, thin-film lubrication, fluid-structure interaction, and the applied design and modeling improvements of rotating machinery systems and components. His work focuses on enhancing the reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems in various applications. He has been recognized for his contributions to teaching and research, receiving several awards including the 2020 James J. Cain ’51 Faculty Graduate Teaching Award and a 2011 Paper Award from the Structures Dynamics Committee at the ASME/IGTI Turbo Expo Conference.
