Adria Junyent-Ferre is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Imperial College London. He received his Industrial Engineering degree from the School of Industrial Engineering of Barcelona (ETSEIB), Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in 2007 and completed his PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2011. His research career began as a researcher at the Centre d'Innovació Tecnològica en Convertidors Estàtics Accionaments (CITCEA-UPC) from 2006 to 2012, where he worked on grid integration aspects of wind power generation in collaboration with Alstom Wind. He joined the Control Power Research Group at Imperial College London as a Research Associate in February 2013 and became a Lecturer in September 2014. His expertise lies in the design and control of power electronic converters, with specific interests in HVDC transmission and new forms of low voltage power distribution. His research focuses on developing control methods to enable cost-effective low carbon power systems based on renewable generation and he has been involved in the RENGA project, which aims to expand electrical power systems starting from small scale autonomous minigrids. He is a senior member of IEEE and actively participates in various societies including the IEEE Power & Energy Society and IEEE Control Systems Society.
