Biography

Adrian Fuente is an Associate Professor at the School of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology at the Université de Montréal. He obtained his PhD from the University of Hong Kong, where he studied the effects of solvents on the auditory system, focusing particularly on the central auditory nervous system. In 2008, he completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Queensland, Australia, where he researched age-related changes in the central auditory nervous system and the benefits of hearing aids for the elderly. He then served as a Senior Research Officer at the same university before relocating to Montréal in September 2013 to join the faculty. His research focuses on the changes in the central auditory system in older adults and how these changes impact the ability to understand speech in noisy environments. Additionally, he investigates if changes in the central auditory nervous system observed in older adults can be linked to the benefits of hearing aids.
