Biography

Adrian M. Owen OBE, PhD, is a Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience Imaging at Western University. He leads the Azrieli program in Brain, Mind, Consciousness, funded by the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR). Dr. Owen has played various editorial roles, including Deputy Editor of the European Journal of Neuroscience. He has published over 300 peer-reviewed articles and authored the best-selling popular science book 'Into the Gray Zone: A Neuroscientist Explores the Border Between Life and Death.' In recognition of his contributions to scientific research, he was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2019. Dr. Owen is also associated with the Canadian Excellence Research Chair in Cognitive Neuroscience Imaging at Western University, focusing on innovative research initiatives in this exciting field.
