Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Adriana Buzatto. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Adriana Zardini Buzatto began her research journey as an undergraduate student in Brazil in 2008. She completed her master's degree in targeted metabolomics and enrolled in the Ph.D. program at the University of Alberta to investigate lipidomics of biological samples using nanoLC and UHPLC-MS. Her focus includes lipid biomarkers related to cystic fibrosis, Parkinson's disease, dementia, and Alzheimer's. After graduating in 2020, she joined the Metabolomics Innovation Centre as a scientist, leading a team that applied methodologies for service work and collaborative research in lipids. In July 2023, she joined the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Calgary as an Assistant Professor and Canada Research Chair in Lipidomics. Her current research program emphasizes the role of lipid species in human metabolism and diseases, particularly concerning the gut microbiome, antimicrobial resistance, and neurodegeneration in the brain. Her research interests cover a wide range of topics, including microbial lipidomics and exposomics, focusing on environmental influences on lipid compositions.
