Dr. Adriana Ferreira

Biography

Adriana Ferreira is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Duke University. She was born and raised in New England and completed her undergraduate and graduate training in Boston, which is known as a medical mecca worldwide. Her interests in child development during college evolved into a pursuit of pediatrics and optometry. As a pediatric optometrist, she specializes in comprehensive eye care, with advanced clinical training focusing on amblyopia, strabismus, myopia progression, specialty contact lenses, and infant aphakia. Adriana is passionate about empowering patients of all ages to achieve optimal vision and eye health. She understands that sight is a primary sense and prioritizes it as a vital aspect of overall health. Patients and families appreciate her calm, patient, and approachable demeanor, and she aims to create positive interactions during every encounter. Outside of her practice, she cherishes outdoor adventures, creative pursuits, music, and beach activities.
