Dr. Adrienne Stang

Biography

Adrienne Stang is an Adjunct Lecturer at Harvard Graduate School of Education and serves as the K-12 history social studies coordinator for Cambridge Public Schools in Massachusetts. She facilitates the creation and implementation of inquiry-based, culturally responsive social studies curriculum and leads workshops focused on curriculum development and culturally sustaining pedagogies. Stang has an extensive background in teaching social studies and history in public high schools in Florida and Massachusetts, with eighteen years of experience. She was a fellow-in-residence at Harvard’s Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics during the 2020–21 academic year. Stang was a lead author for the Democratic Knowledge Project's curriculum 'Expanding Liberty, Equality, Suffrage — 1776–1924,' which was recognized as core material by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology and a certificate in Women’s Studies from Princeton University, as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching from Brown University.
