Dr. Adrienne Traxler

Biography

Adrienne Lorelei Traxler is an Associate Professor and Visiting Researcher at the University of Copenhagen, specializing in Pharmaceutical Informatics. Her research primarily focuses on physics education, emphasizing university-level teaching and learning, with an interdisciplinary approach that includes network analysis and gender issues in physics. Traxler's work utilizes social network analysis to explore the interactions between students and scientists and to examine conceptual connections within educational frameworks. She has conducted studies on student interaction networks and item networks in concept inventories, as well as personal networks of practicing physicists. A particular interest of hers is broadening participation in physics and addressing gender fairness in the field. Recent projects under her guidance include NETMAP, which studies historical networks of women in physics, and initiatives aimed at enhancing active learning environments in science education. Traxler is also actively involved in university pedagogy, teaching courses designed to improve pedagogical methods for instructors. Before joining the University of Copenhagen, she taught various physics courses at different levels and has experience running data and software carpentry workshops.
