Dr. Afshin Rahimi

Biography

Afshin Rahimi is a Professor in the Mechanical, Automotive & Materials Engineering department at the University of Windsor. He specializes in model-based and data-driven fault detection, diagnostics, and prognosis, a crucial area of research in ensuring the reliability and safety of engineering systems. His work includes exploring multi-agent systems such as satellites, drones, and vehicles, particularly in the context of intelligent manufacturing and Industry 5.0. He holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University, where he has also earned his Master's degree. Professor Rahimi is actively engaged in his research field and maintains professional affiliations with various organizations, including the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and the Prognosis and Health Monitoring Society. He is well-published, with numerous papers addressing contemporary engineering challenges such as fault diagnosis and control systems for aerospace applications.
