Dr. Agi Brandt Talbot

Biography

Agnieszka (Agi) Brandt-Talbot is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Imperial College London, where she leads the Sustainable Carbon Solutions research team. With extensive expertise, she has authored over 40 scientific articles and holds more than 7 patents. Her research focuses on the development of bio-derived materials and chemicals from sustainable biomass, contributing to the sustainable carbon economy. Agi is committed to teaching sustainable chemistry at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In recognition of her early career achievements, she was awarded Imperial's President's Award for Excellence in 2015 and the Sir William Wakeham Award in 2016. She has also been a recipient of the Imperial College Research Fellowship. Agi co-founded a spin-out company, Lixea, which reflects her innovative approach to utilizing chemical processes in plastics and biomass recycling. She holds BSc and MSc degrees in Chemistry from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and completed her PhD at Imperial College London, where she also worked as a Research Associate in the Department of Chemical Engineering. Agi is an active member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and serves as the Honorary Treasurer of the RSC Molten Salts and Ionic Liquids Discussion Group.
