Dr. Agnes Kovacs

Biography

Agnes Kovacs is an applied economist at the University of Manchester, where she focuses on understanding consumption and savings behavior in households using economic models and micro-level data. Her research lies at the intersection of applied microeconomics, behavioral economics, and macroeconomics. Kovacs is particularly interested in exploring non-standard preferences to explain anomalies in household behavior and the various types of income risks that influence household decision-making. Her work is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, contributing to global efforts to eliminate poverty and promote prosperity. As a Research Associate at the Institute for Fiscal Studies since October 2018, she has collaborated on multiple research projects aimed at addressing pressing economic issues.
