Agni Kalfagianni specializes in the effectiveness, legitimacy, and ethical justice considerations of private transnational forms of governance in the sustainability domain. She serves on the Scientific Steering Committee of the Earth System Governance project and held a rotating co-chair role from 2019 to 2022. As a co-founder of the international Planetary Justice Taskforce, she collaborates with an interdisciplinary group of scholars addressing questions of justice in the context of profound transformations in the earth system. She is (co)Editor-in-Chief of the Global Environmental Governance book series published by Routledge and serves as Editor-in-Chief for International Environmental Agreements: Politics, Law and Economics, while also being an Associate Editor at the Earth System Governance journal. Currently, she is leading the GIVING project, which focuses on philanthropic foundations, global justice, and sustainability governance, with funding from the Dutch Research Council (NWO).
