Biography

Agnieszka Kubal is an Associate Professor at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies (CSLS) in the Law Faculty at the University of Oxford and a Research Fellow at Green Templeton College. She completed her DPhil at the University of Oxford in 2011. Her work has been recognized for its analytical sophistication and empirical richness, especially her co-edited volume 'Sociology of Justice in Russia.' Currently, she serves as the Principal Investigator for a UKRI/ERC Starter Grant project focusing on the intersection of human rights and societal conditions in Eastern Europe and Russia. Dr. Kubal's research has made significant impacts in the legal field, particularly regarding undocumented Syrian asylum seekers in Russia, contributing to a landmark European Court of Human Rights judgment.
