Dr. Agnieszka Roginska

Biography

Agnieszka Roginska is a Professor in the Music Technology department at New York University Steinhardt. She holds a B.Mus. from McGill University (1996), an M.M. from New York University (1998), and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University (2004). Her research focuses on simulation applications, immersive 3D audio capture, analysis and synthesis of auditory environments, and auditory displays, particularly in the context of augmented acoustic sensing. She has authored numerous publications in the fields of acoustics, psychoacoustics, spatial sound, and immersive audio, and she co-edited the book titled "Immersive Sound: Art Science Binaural Multi-Channel Audio". Roginska teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses, including 3D Audio, Digital Signal Theory, and Acoustics, and she has experience in leading advanced projects in immersive sound and thesis research methods. Her work has been recognized within the academic community, having served as the Past-President of the Audio Engineering Society and as an AES Fellow. Additionally, she is involved with the Society for Women in Technology at NYU, providing support and guidance in academic and professional development. Roginska's innovative academic programs emphasize creative experimentation and the integration of musical and technical skills.
